Record-breaking Attendance for New Year’s Raceday

A record-breaking crowd attended Musselburgh Racecourse on New Year’s Day to witness the spectacle of jumps racing and the world famous New Year’s Day Sprint – won this year by 17 year old Greg Kelly. An attendance of over 6400 defied the cold weather to take in the action on the first raceday of the new year, an increase of 18% on 2016.

We have worked extensively with Musselburgh to promote the unique prospect of simultaneous first-class jumps racing and elite-level sprinting and have now firmly established the raceday as the premier annual sporting event for January 1st in Scotland.

The attendance figures are made all the more impressive as ITV broadcast the event live as they made their return to British horseracing after 30 years.

We look forward to working with Musselburgh on further campaigns throughout the year and further establishing their award-winning reputation . You can view a full list of their 24 2017 fixtures here.
