Marinades of Scotland, the UK’s leading range of ready to eat marinated fish products have been producing pickled and marinated herring for over 24 years to a traditional recipe. Having noticed a shift in consumer tastes, they realised, to bring their brand to the mainstream market, they needed an identity and packaging which truly reflects the luxury and quality of their product, whilst commanding a real market presence.
Our research suggested consumers confusion over the current brand name, meaning developing an identity more closely linked to the product was an important first step and after further market and consumer research, Silver Tide was born. The brand name represented the history of the product recipe and production while providing a fresh and modern identity of the brand.
The product packaging had to communicate the modern classic. We used a brushed silver background with bold bright colours to differentiate the flavour variants, while a classic typeface and the illustrated logo provided an unmistakable shelve presence.
We created point of sale literature to communicate the rebrand to existing customers.
