A Big Bang to begin Musselburgh Racecourse’s Bi-centenary year

Oui3 help to increase Musselburgh Racecourse’s 2016 New Year’s Day raceday attendance by 30% with creative branding and advertising to build racegoers excitement, marking this as an event not to be missed.

Musselburgh Racecourse’s New Year’s day raceday brings something special to the fixture list, with which, no other racecourse in the UK can compete.

A day filled with fantastic horse racing, Musselburgh also plays host to the historic and famous New Year’s Day sprint, an open athlete 110-meter sprint, which this year made history with its first female winner.

‘With these two important event focuses, striking a balance between communicating the features to build audience excitement and still representing this, as very much a day of outstanding horse racing can be tricky’ says Derek Ritchie, Head of Design at Oui3.

‘Building on last year’s creative concept, we played on the contrast between the horse and athlete. Taking our cues from boxing promotional communication we created a head to head stand off between the runner and rider, bringing them together under the headline Run & Jump!’

Aisling Johnston, marketing manager at Musselburgh Racecourse commented, ‘we’ve had fantastic feedback about our striking creative this year. People really took notice and felt like this was an event not to be missed. With the addition of the free bus service, they knew they could make a whole day it, which has definitely been reflected in the increased attendance’

Working closely with the Musselburgh Racecourse’s internal team for over 6 years, Oui3, as brand guardians, continually strive to help communicate and deliver a 5 star visitor experience.
