Lakeland Bake’s Social Virtual National

Lakeland Bake are about to launch their newest shaped crumpet offering – their magic Unicorns (exclusively in ASDA from Monday 29th April) and as part our brand marketing support, we proposed a social engagement campaign in the build up, tying the launch into the virtual race featuring their great range of occasional shaped crumpets.

Through their Facebook and Instagram accounts, visitors were introduced to the runners and their appropriate hashtags and part 1’s launch date. Visitors then visited their social feeds on 17th April and shared their ‘bets’ on the winner through a series of hashtags whilst watching part 1 of the race, with part 2 of the race appearing on their social feeds this week to reveal the winner – and launch the new product.

The social competition generated over 2000 visits to their Facebook and Instagram pages, with a multitude of winning hashtags – with 2 lucky winners picked, receiving their own special box of Lakeland Bake’s delicious range of crumpets.
