Our recent campaign for Musselburgh Racecourse’s Edinburgh Cup raceday, ‘Bringing colours to the capital’ combines the architectural icons of Edinburgh to a create breath-taking event creative.
Since it’s introduction in 2010, Oui3 have helped strengthen the event’s position to become one of the biggest racedays in the Musselburgh Racecourses calendar. Developing the yearly campaign ‘bringing colours to the capital’ has increased the events year on year attendance to the record breaking 6,500 in 2015.
This year, Musselburgh Racecourse secured event sponsorship from one of the cities most iconic artisan gin brand, Edinburgh Gin. Following the success of our Caledonian Brewery raceday campaign, the team were keen to incorporate the Edinburgh Gin brand in a similar way.
Derek Richie, Head of Design said ‘it was certainly a challenge to integrate Edinburgh Gin into the campaign, which contrasts the colourful jockey silks against black and white Edinburgh imagery. However, taking our lead the flavoured Edinburgh Gin labels, we proposed an illustrated image of Edinburgh landmarks and the Edinburgh Gin bottle to marry the two brands perfectly’
Our illustrator, Fraser Haston’s unique pen and ink style, works perfectly for the atmosphere we wanted to create. Bringing all the iconic Edinburgh landmarks together in a commissioned piece, to drive home the message that Musselburgh is Edinburgh’s racecourse.
The campaign will run for 4 months on the lead up to the event in a multi channel campaign.
