A twist on the traditional – New McIntosh Macaroni

Last week saw the launch of our recent project for client McIntosh of Strathmore. The new range of “Macaroni Snackpots”, which offers a twist on the traditional mealtime favourite launches in ASDA stores, nationwide.

The brief was to create a new pack design which would not only attract the extended and developing target audience both in profile and geographical reach, but also to create a packaging form which would best promote the products’ immediate “on the go”  and hugely enjoyable, yet comforting nature. In addition, we also created and developed promotional and digital marketing for the teaser campaign and product launch.

Our Managing Director, Gary Haston said “The packaging was a revolutionary design for McIntosh, offering something starkly different from their existing packaging. However, having recently undertaken a re-brand of their entire range, we were keen to take this opportunity to further develop and stretch the brand, whilst maintaining recognition of this well-loved range of products,”

The 350g pots are aimed at a fast paces, younger audience for snacking or mealtimes, seeing the established Scottish ready meal brand teaming up with well-known cheese brands, Mexicana® and Applewood® to offer 3 products with their own distinct personality, Meaty, Spicy and Smoky.

The new “McIntosh Macaroni Snackpots” are available in ASDA stores throughout Scotland and selected stores in England and Wales from 20th April 2015.
